Because these little grubs are going to grow into big beetles, they are full of energy in the form of fats to help them to do this. They are also rich in protein, and can be easily fed on supplements to gut-load them prior to feeding to your pet.

What Can Eat Fruit Beetle Grubs?

These grubs can be eaten by most reptiles as an occasional treat. They can be fed to leopard geckos, bearded dragons, Chinese water dragons and other larger reptiles as well as some exotic mammals. 

Because of their soft bodies, high fat protein and slow moving habit, they are also a good choice for any animals a little under the weather and in need of a boost. Furthermore, their tendency to eat pretty much anything means you can gut-load them with a mix of vitamins and minerals to aid the recuperation of your pet. For healthy animals, they should only be fed as a treat.

Fruit Beetle Grub Care

It is easy to look after these grubs and they can stay in the container they are packaged in. If you plan to keep them to feed over the longer term you can feed them on soft fruits like banana, mango and apple, or use commercially available jelly pots.
